Resources

Planning a trip abroad? Perhaps even your first trip abroad ever? While exciting is can also be quite daunting, finding the best place to book accommodation, to book flights, how do I find things to do, what should I bring… We’ve been there, and not just once. Every time we leave for a new country we ask ourselves many of the same questions over again, but luckily after years of practice as full time travellers we have notices that it is getting easier and easier to plan a trip. So we thought we would share our resources with you: our favourite companies, brand and services that we use during our travels in the hope that perhaps your travel planning process becomes a little bit easier! Please note that all information below is for informational purposes only.

Travel Gear

When it comes to travel gear we have to admit that we have switched many times during the years. From backpacks to duffle bags, until we finally settled on suitcases, and we have not changed our mind since. We are currently using the following setup:

Flights & Airport Lounges

As full-time travellers we average about 10 different flights per year. We always try to minimise our flights and prefer to take overland transport instead but sometimes hopping on a flights is simply unavoidable. When we take a flight though we always try to find the best deals, and to make it a little bit more comfortable we have recently also signed up for airport lounge access. These are currently our favourite website and resources when it comes to booking and taking flights:

Money & Budget

One of the most important parts of travelling is not only setting a budget but also making sure you can access money abroad. As full-time travellers we personally travel with multiple cards between the two of us which include debit cards, credit cards and prepaid cards, just to make sure we always have access to our funds. We highly recommend taking more than 1 card, just in case it gets lost, stolen or blocked. These are the resources we personally use when it comes to using and accessing money abroad:

Accommodation

One of the most important part of planning your trip is finding the right accommodation. In our opinion a hotel can make or break your trip as there is nothing worse than staying in a place where you don’t feel safe, comfortable and simply cannot get a good night’s sleep. If you are planning a short trip you might want to consider booking your accommodation in advance to avoid any stress during your trip. When it comes to booking accommodation these are our preferred platforms:

Experiences & Sightseeing

When it comes to experiences and sightseeing we personally prefer to arrange everything independently and skip any online services. However, if you are short on time you might like to book a tour ahead online. We’ve heard that the following programmes are great for reading reviews, booking tours online and booking tickets for sightseeing in advance (knowing as skip the line) which can save a lot time:

Editing & Website

As travel content creators we use a variety of programmes and resources to edit our photos, videos and of course host this website. We personally use, and have been using for years, the following programmes and resources for editing and our website:
