How much does it cost to travel the world?
One of the most common question we get is how we afford to travel, and as such also, how much does it exactly cost to travel full time? Well to answer the former: we currently run two Etsy stores where we sell digital products. The income of these stores allow us to travel on a budget of around $100 to $150 (that is USD) a day for the both of us, while also putting away a little bit for savings for when we visit those destinations that are a little more expensive.
But it might be good to know that it wasnβt always like this. Up until 2021 we lived mainly of savings and traveled on a budget of $40 a day for the both of us. This mainly meant we stayed in budget guesthouses, used local overland transport and opted for free and low budget sightseeing! Nonetheless we still managed to see tons of destinations on a budget like this, travel truly does not have to be expensive. We have shared a bit more about our lower budget and how much it costs to visit, for example, Bali or Iran on our old travel blog here!
If you are curious on how we exactly travel on $100 to $150 a day as a couple, and what kind of countries you can visit on this budget check out our budget reports from all the destinations we have visited below!
PAKISTAN | We spent an average of $95.67 per day for the two of us. Read the full budget breakdown of our Pakistan travel budget here!

Please note that while our guides cover all our travel related expenses, there are many other expenses that occur for us on a monthly basis that are not included as, for example, these are not necessarily related to travel but do occur when you travel full time. Here are some costs that are not included in the above travel budget guides:
Tips as this is an expense that differs largely depending on how much you personally like to tip
Flights between destinations as these are differ largely depending on your travel route
Health and beauty expenses such as buying toiletries or getting a haircut, costs that often donβt occur unless you travel for longer periods at a time
Business costs as these are not linked to our travels but just to the businesses we run
Shopping costs such as buying new clothes or buying souvenirs
In total we aim to spend an average of $100 - $150 a day for the both of us including all the costs above, or a rough $3000 to $4500 a month.
